Chemical Laboratories: Temporary or Permanent?
...Buy, Rent or Lease?...
We have developed a new modular laboratory system that will allow a plant to solve its laboratory problems for less than half of what it normally costs. We are the exclusive distributors of LabVault® systems for the Gulf Coast.
A LabVault® system consists of a well-insulated, heavy constructed 55' long 8' wide laboratory room, skid mounted. Prefabricated, tested and shipped to the job by truck, it can be installed where it is needed and be operational on-site, in less then a day.
More importantly, with its special fume hoods and ventilation system, containment ventilation is achieved for the best possible working environment. The lab structure is configured to include up to 10 each 6' wide vertical rising sash fume hoods equipped with the Accu*Aire® state of the art fume hood and laboratory airflow control system.
The fume hoods are "flush mounted " in the LabVault® walls, bolted in place and removable, with utilities and service to the hood externally through the removable access covers outside the lab. The hoods include a "top and back wrap" perforated plate instead of conventional type baffles that greatly enhances the uniformity of face velocity across the hood sash opening and aids containment ventilation within the fume hood. It also includes other aerodynamic features that assist in containing materials in the hood.
These include perimeter opening elliptically shaped inlet sections, a rounded edge on the safety ledge entrance shelf, a rounded section as a part of the bottom of the hood sash, and an elliptically-shaped lower sash air foil, a full width exhaust slot "pick up" at the back of the hood behind the perforated place, a full width sash cap that forces all air entering the hood to come through the sash opening, plus many other safety containment enhancements and improvements.
The Accu*Aire Controls digital PAC control system meters the flow from each fume hood, resets, and makes the supply air flow rate track the net hood exhaust flow rate. This keeps the supply and exhaust flows balanced at all times and guarantees calculated fume hood face velocity will remain constant across each hood's sash opening, regardless of position. Air is introduced in the lab through a full area preformatted ceiling to keep the supply air "blow out" from occurring.
The system includes the Accu*Aire Sash Positioning System (sPs) that keeps each hood sash in its normally closed position until someone walks in front of it. When this happens, the sPs senses user presence and the sash opens to half height for "hands free" operation with flow increased accordingly. When the technician walks away, the hood closes and flow is reduced to the proper minimum. Containment ventilation keeps the materials in the fume hood.
